Tax Day is Rapidly Approaching

In 19 days, on April 18, 2023, taxes are due for most Americans. It seems just a few short days ago we marked the opening of Tax Season. Time sure flies (when you are having fun?). For those of you that have already filed your taxes, congratulations are in order, and for those of you that have not had a chance to file your taxes, stick around and let’s see if we can provide some tips for you to get them filed.

Tip #1 Utilize the IRS’s Free File system

For most Americans, you have the ability to file your taxes for free by visiting Here. This service provided by the IRS finds available deductions, credits, and exemptions.

Tip #2 Find a Tax Professional

The IRS keeps an updated list of Qualified Professionals that can be found Here. You can select different credentials such as Certified Public Accountant, Attorney, etc., to ensure you find the Professional that will fit your needs.

Tip #3 Free Tax Assistance

Another program offered by the IRS is the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (VITA) and (TCE). This program offers assistance for qualified people that generally make less than $60,000 per year, have disabilities, and are limited English-speaking taxpayers. To find VITA and TCE locations please visit Here.

For any questions regarding taxes or tax day, please reach out to the Professionals at The Center for Financial, Legal, & Tax Planning Inc. at (618) 997-3436.
