Carol L. Basi, born, raised and educated in upstate New York, married her high school sweetheart, Bart A.Basi, and has shared with him many happy anniversaries.  She is the mother of 6 children and the proud grandmother of 13 grandchildren.

She graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester NY, with a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.  A few years later, she realized her first love of study had always been English literature and so, studied for and earned a Master’s degree in English from the University of Louisville.

Her teaching career involved classes at the junior high and high school levels in Syracuse NY and Louisville KY.  She also taught English for the University of Kentucky system in Louisville.

For many years, she was a stay-at-home mom dedicated to raising her family, volunteering at schools, and driving to and from piano lessons; childrens’ choir; various University enrichment programs; play practice; baseball games; band practice; church activities; etc.  One day the nest emptied so her husband suggested she might be interested in working full time with him.  She had some knowledge of the operations of the company as she had worked there on a part-time basis for many years and often accompanied her husband to various association meetings around the country.  She accepted his offer, becoming responsible primarily for client communications, staff assignments and editorial work.  She is the Corporate Secretary of The Center for Financial, Legal & Tax Planning, Inc., (The Center) and is President of their real estate company, Woodland Rental Properties, LLC.

Carol enjoys being involved in civic and charitable causes.  She served as Co-Chair of the Annual Fund Drive for the American Cancer Society in State College PA where her team raised a record amount of funds for cancer research.  She also volunteered for the same organization in Marion IL.  She served as Publicity Chair for the annual fund drive for the United Way campaign in Murphysboro IL.  Currently, she heads up a volunteer program at The Center for the State of Illinois' Adopt-a Highway program in Marion IL.  She has been a long time supporter of Habitat for Humanity, was President of the Parish Council at her church and is a Eucharistic Minister.
